To Lola
This site is dedicated to the memory of Lola, a Miniature Poodle of
uncommonly good nature. She welcomed each Irish Wolfhound into her home with
a happy smile and exceedingly effective evasive maneuvers.

You who pass by on this path, if perchance you notice
this tomb, I beg you not to laugh that it is the grave of a dog. I was wept
for, and the dust was mounded up by the hands of my master, who also
inscribed this message on my gravestone.
